BOTTOM OF THE 9TH — One at-bat, one swing, one back page

It is the bottom of the ninth: two outs, bases loaded, down by three. Enter a name, step in as the pinch hitter, and time one swing. This is not a full baseball simulation. It isolates the smallest possible stage on which everything can still change, then prints the result on the back page of The Kura Post.

Timing decides the hit

Pitch speed changes each time, and later pitches may briefly disappear. Code compares the center of your swing with the ball's arrival to determine a grand slam, bases-clearing triple, single, foul ball, or strike. There are no paid boosts and no hidden way to purchase a better result.

The commentary and newspaper are hand-written

Every entrance call, pitch, miss, foul, result line, headline, subhead, and newspaper story comes from a hand-written English library selected for that outcome. No generative AI is called during play. Replays can still produce different commentary and a different back page.

Saving and sharing

The newspaper uses the date you played. Your entered name, at-bat result, headline, and completed story are stored on the server to reproduce the image and public result link. Anyone with that link can read the name and story, so use a player name or nickname if a real name should stay private.
