Cat Scanner — A tiny brain, an unreasonable amount of cat

Cat Scanner turns a cat's name into an imaginary map of snacks, naps, boxes, zoomies, affection, and quiet schemes. It is a joke about familiar cat behaviour — not animal psychology, veterinary guidance, or a factual judgment about a particular cat.

How to play

Type your cat's name and press Scan. The yellow eyes light first, then the white brain appears and its words fill in from the outside toward the final central word. Post the card to X, or save it as PNG or SVG.

The result is made by code

The server normalizes the name and uses a deterministic generator to choose a cat-specific composition, words, colors, sizes, and coordinates. The browser receives only the final drawing instructions. The same name always returns the same card, and no generative AI is called.

The small brain is the point

The brain area is intentionally tiny: the joke depends on fitting a large personality into a very limited space. Reduced-motion settings on your device are respected.

Saving, sharing, and cat names

The entered cat name and result are cached on the server for reproduction. Shared links include the name in the URL, so anyone with that link can read it. Results are never listed publicly by this page. If the name itself is private, use a nickname.

FAQ

Two cats with the same name — same result?

Yes. The card depends only on the spelling of the name. Add a nickname or a suffix (Mochi Jr., Luna the Second) to get a different one.

Does the scan say anything true about my cat?

No. The words come from a fixed list of cat behaviours, picked by code from the letters of the name. Any resemblance to your actual cat is a happy accident.

Is there a version for people?

Yes — Brain Scanner uses the same idea with a human profile and a different vocabulary.
